Meet Lauren!

I am Lauren the founder of No Place Like Home Nursing.

I am a registered nurse and have been for over 10 years. My main background is pre/post-surgical nursing including gynaecology, colorectal, urology, general surgery, orthopaedic and vascular.
I also have significant experience in GP, Palliative Care, Community Nursing and RACF.

You will soon see I love talking! I love chatting to my patients to make them feel as comfortable as possible in a vulnerable time – I will strike up a conversation on anything and everything - I love hearing everyone’s stories!

Outside of nursing, I love the outdoors, being with my 3 girls and husband, horse riding, fishing and anything adventurous.

When I was younger growing up in Jindabyne NSW, my dream was to be an Olympic snowboarder and/or Snowboard Coach! My dream quickly became distant as I had to have multiple knee surgeries as a result from competitive snowboarding and netball. As I experienced life from a patient’s perspective, I realised how much better I could make the patient-experience. I was determined to study hard to become an excellent nurse who was truly present for each patient.

COVID was a very trying time in the health industry and cast a shadow over my nursing career, however, since moving to Agnes Water there is nowhere else I want to be and no where else I would rather be nursing!

I love being able to care for people in their own homes. Being able to advocate for an elderly person to be able to stay at home safely is so important. Ensuring the person and their family have the services to ensure ageing in place can happen.

There really is No Place Like Home!
